Corrigin Fire Update

Fire on edge of Corrigin near airstrip was reported at 11.40am yesterday.
Burnt approximately 645ha.
Water bombers provided great assistance in dropping water on fire and intelligence from planes assisted fire crews on the ground.
An outstanding effort from local and neighbouring volunteer fire brigades, DFES, Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Parks and Wildlife.
The fire was controlled late yesterday afternoon. Crews worked through the night and are mopping up and strengthening containment lines to make it safe for coming weeks.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
