The Shire is considering removing seven Sugar Gum trees on Kirkwood Street near the pool and caravan park for the following reasons:
• poor visibility at the Kirkwood-Larke Street intersection
• falling tree limbs during high winds
• white ant infestation
• reduce damage to the pool from tree roots
• excessive leaf litter at the pool without providing useful shade
• future plans to construct a footpath require removal of roots and enough time for the ground to settle
Smaller and more suitable trees will be considered as replacements.
